This gives the engine control a signal about the position of the throttle valve, which is used to ensure consistent engine operation across the entire speed range.

Throttle position sensor function

Detects the angle of throttle grip operation.

Transmits the recorded information to the ignition control unit.

Supports smooth operation of the engine across the entire speed range.

Technical assignment

Brand: TOURMAX

Name: TPS sensor

Category: Throttle Position Sensor

Vehicle: Kawasaki KLX 400 (KLX 400 A)

Year of manufacture: 2003-2004

Selection note

This sensor is assigned to the Kawasaki KLX 400 (KLX 400 A) of the full 2003-2004 model year range. If the vehicle model and year of manufacture match this assignment, the component can be specifically selected based on its function as a sensor for the throttle valve position.

The TPS sensor is part of the vehicle's electrical equipment and works at the interface between the throttle grip actuation and the ignition control unit. Its task is to record and pass on the actuation angle so that the engine control can take the position of the throttle valve into account across the speed range.

https://motorize-finland.com/en/products/kawasaki-klx-400-klx-400-a-2003-2004-tps-anturi-suzuki-drz400s-sm
